About NHSC-14

The 14th Aseanian Conference on Nano Hybrid Solar Cells, abbreviated as NHSC-14, originated from the Tokyo Workshop on Solar Light Energy Conversion held in 2006. From 2007 to 2009, the conference evolved into the Korea-Japan Bilateral Workshop on Dye-sensitized and Organic Solar Cells, held in Korea and Japan. From 2010 to 2015, it was renamed the Aseanian Conference on Dye-sensitized and Organic Solar Cells (DSC-OPV). With the rise of perovskite solar cells, the conference was renamed the Aseanian Conference on Nano-hybrid Solar Cells in 2016. The conference is alternately hosted by countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, China/Hong Kong and Australia, and is regarded as the most important international conference for next-generation solar cells in the Asia-Pacific region. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference was canceled for two consecutive years. After discussions by the organizing committee, it was decided to postpone the event to 2025 in Taiwan.

奈米複合太陽能電池國際會議(14th Aseanian Conference on Nano Hybrid Solar Cells),簡稱NHSC-14會議。緣起於2006年舉辦於東京的太陽能轉換研討會(Tokyo Workshop on Solar Light Energy Conversion),該會議於2007-2009年改為在韓國與日本舉行的染料敏化及有機太陽能電池雙邊會議(Korea-Japan Bilateral Workshop on Dye-sensitized and Organic Solar Cells),並於2010-2015年更名為亞太染料敏化及有機太陽能電池會議(Aseanian Conference on Dye-sensitized and Organic Solar Cells,DSC-OPV)。由於鈣鈦礦的興起,本會議在2016年更名為奈米複合太陽能電池(Nano-hybrid Solar Cells)國際會議,由亞太地區日本、韓國、台灣、新加坡、中國/香港與澳洲等國家輪流主辦,為亞太區下世代太陽能電池之最重要的國際會議,但由於新冠肺炎(COVID-19)肆虐,連續兩年都停辦,經委員會討論後決定延後至2025年在台灣舉辦。

Purpose

Due to the depletion of traditional energy sources and global issues, the demand for new renewable energy has never ceased. In recent years, with the rapid industrial development, saving the Earth from the devastation of the greenhouse effect is no longer just a slogan. This has led to the development of next-generation solar cells. Since 2012, the integration of two previously competitive research fields- Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC) and Organic Photovoltaic Cells (OPV)- has successfully led to the creation of Perovskite Solar Cells (PSC), which hold great potential for future commercialization.


To date, research on PSCs has flourished, almost overshadowing the past prominence of DSSC and OPV. The main reason for this is that the efficiency of PSCs has skyrocketed from 10% to over 26% in just a few years, posing a direct or indirect threat to the solar photovoltaic industry, which has mainly relied on silicon-based solar cells. Neighboring countries to Taiwan, such as China, Japan, Korea, and Singapore, have been hosting large-scale international conferences on related topics annually. Since Taiwan first hosted the DSC-OPV International Conference in 2012, over thirteen years have passed, and for this year (2025), the NHSC-14 conference will again be hosted by Taiwan.


We aim to take full advantage of this opportunity by inviting many internationally renowned scholars in the field. Research areas will focus on perovskites and organic nanomaterials, and the application scope will expand beyond photovoltaic cells to include laser/LED light-emitting devices, photocatalytic water splitting for hydrogen production, and photocatalytic CO2 reduction to methane. This conference will provide Taiwanese students and researchers with opportunities to learn from and exchange ideas with leading international teams, enhancing Taiwan's academic standing and visibility on the global stage.

由於傳統能源的枯竭與全球化問題,人類對於新的再生能源之需求從未停息。近年來由於工業化的高度發展,拯救地球免於溫室效應的摧殘已不再是一個口號,新世代太陽能電池的發展由此展開。自2012年開始以新世代太陽能電池由原本互為競爭之染料敏化太陽能電池 (Dye sensitized solar cell, DSSC)與有機光伏電池 (Organic photovoltaic, OPV)等兩大研究領域整合成功,共同開創出極具未來商業化潛能的鈣鈦礦太陽能電池 (Perovskite solar cell, PSC),時至今日,鈣鈦礦太陽能電池領域之相關研究風起雲湧,幾乎搶盡了DSSC與OPV的昔日光彩,其主要原因就是PSC的元件效能在短短數年的時間內就由10 %上升到26 %以上,直接或間接威脅到以矽晶太陽能電池為主的太陽光電產業。鄰近台灣之中、日、韓、新加坡等國年年舉辦相關之大型國際會議,而台灣自2012年主辦DSC-OPV 國際會議後,至此次主辦已逾十三年之久,而今年(2025年)NHSC-14主辦單位決定將仍然由台灣主辦,我們將把握此機會邀請眾多該領域之國際知名學者,研究領域以鈣鈦礦與有機奈米材料為主,應用範圍也將從光伏電池擴充至雷射/LED發光元件、光催化解水產氫以及光催化CO2降解產出甲烷等研究領域,為台灣莘莘學子與研究人員提供與國際一流團隊學習與交流的機會,並增加台灣於學術界之國際地位與可見度。
